Used Ford Trucks F-150

This lightweight, full-size pickup has been produced in the U.S. for more than 40 years. In the summer of 2020, Ford introduced a new generation of the F-150. Externally, the car has been greatly redesigned. Changed the shape of headlights, grille design - by the way, there are 11 types depending on the configuration - the configuration of the front bumper and fog lights. 

The shape of the side mirrors has been changed. The rear of the truck was updated less, here the engineers just used the new design of clamshells on the folding door of the cargo area and the bumper. It is noteworthy that the manufacturer managed to improve aerodynamic performance, thus increasing fuel efficiency. The interior of the new F-150 is also changed. Top versions now offer a multimedia system with a 12-inch screen. An 8-inch touchscreen on the center console is still standard for medium-priced XL and XLT versions. Used Ford F-150 pickups got its suspension: original powerful levers with the SVT logo, lengthened springs, and FOX Racing shock absorbers. And the last is not so simple. Shock absorbers with an additional compression chamber are installed in the back - oil squeezes out into it at too big shock absorber stroke: it is the decision from the world of rally and rally-cross.

Visually, the compression chamber is made in the form of a cylinder, which is why it is often mistakenly said that the Ford F-150 is equipped with dual rear shock absorbers - this is not true, which, however, does not reduce the originality and uniqueness of the design with compression chambers. 

Front shock absorbers are also not simple - here are used internal valves, which regulate the characteristic of suspension depending on the stroke of the shock rod: a small stroke, driving on asphalt - harder; more stroke, driving on off-road - softer. Front shock absorbers stroke is 11 inches, rear shock absorbers stroke is one more - 12 inches.

Undercarriage: independent suspension in the front and a dependent solid axle in the rear (4.10 gears). On a "circle" - shock absorbers FOX Racing, ventilated brake discs, tires BFGoodrich measure 35 inches in external diameter. In a more familiar system of measurements, the size of the tire is listed as 315/70R17 - these huge soft tires perfectly swallow the bumps but a little "lubricate" sensations during braking

The pickup underwent an upgrade in 2017. All engines were equipped with the "base" start/stop system, adjusted exterior and equipment list. The most important acquisition was the 253-horsepower V6 3.0 Power Stroke diesel engine with a ten-speed automatic. The same transmission the Americans gave to both EcoBoosts (2.7 and 3.5) and V8 engine, instead of the former six-speed "automatic". Also, during the restyling, several technical improvements received gasoline units (in particular, they implanted a combined injection) and revised their output levels.

It is possible to make legends about the reliability and durability of American pickups. In most cases, these are extremely reliable and durable used F-150 Fords. They drive 300-400 thousand miles with almost no questions asked. Pickups from the USA hardly ever rot, since the construction of these vehicles has a constantly blowing bottom, and there are no places where dirt or moisture can accumulate. In particular, the Ford F150, starting in 2015, is almost all aluminum, except for the frame. But the frame of all American pickups is so thick that it can be left to rot in the swamp for about 20 years, and not much will happen to it during this time.

The thirteenth generation of the Ford F-150 was presented in 2014. It was a revolution for the pickup: the model received a frame made almost entirely of high-strength steels (their share increased from 23% to 77%) and an aluminum body (the only large steel part in it is the engine shield). 

The truck is 230 lbs lighter than its predecessor but at the same time much stronger. The range of engines was increased by supercharged V6 2.7 EcoBoost and "atmospheric" V6 3.5 Cyclone. Other gasoline engines include the V8 5.0 Coyote, V6 3.5 EcoBoost (various versions), and the V6 3.3 Cyclone. Together, they covered the power range from 286 to 456 horsepower (the most powerful was the Raptor).

The worst years of the used Ford F-150, based on the total number of complaints to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, are 2004, 2005, 2006, 2013, 2015, 2016, 2011, 2007, 2002, and 2010.
